What Were Your Plans, Mom?

Whenever I look at my Mom in her high school graduation picture, I look into her eyes, and think, what were your plans, Mom?

I wonder what she was dreaming of. How she pictured her life. What were her thoughts about after graduation?

What did she think her husband would look like?

And what was she hoping to do next?

Mom's have plans too. They have dreams aside from us. Sometimes, it's hard for me to picture my Mom, before me. I have to remember, she is Mary also.

And Mary, I hope that whatever dreams you had before me, either came true or are coming true.

Because every girl dreams. And every girl deserves dreams coming true.
