Where I've Been

Sorry, it's been a while. No reason in particular. Just life. But I've missed being here. How are you?

Are you on Facebook? I've been on there too much lately. On that note, what's your feelings on Facebook? My friend had her fiance disable his account because she felt weird about him spreading info that might be read by others.

I think that if you're on the internet, you're on the internet. No matter what site it is you're on. You put yourself out there. A year ago I shut down my blog because someone wrote a comment on my blog that was inappropriate. But then I talked it over with Tom and we both decided I have the right to live my life. And no one should take away something that is healthy and makes me happy. It's the "intruders" that are the exception. They are not the norm.

Do you think facebook is too personal? Too invasive?

Hi Jenn,

Good to see another post from you...was wondering how you were!

Ah, Facebook. You bring up a really good point about making the choice to put ourselves out there on the internet. I agree that we have the right to live our lives and to do what feels happy and healthy for us, but I also keep in mind that there will always be people out there who use blogs/Facebook as an opportunity to be abusive/destructive/toxic...and honestly, it just makes me feel sad for them. The way I see it, blogging can be such an incredible experience; we meet so many amazing souls, and some go on to form deep friendships...and despite the few bad apples out there, the good ALWAYS outweighs the bad.

I'm on Facebook, and while I find it an incredible social tool, I am still a little weary. I strive to be real...to be ME, so I can't help but be a little careful about who I choose to let "in"...you know?

Anyhoo...sorry about the novel! :-\ Hope you are having a good week!

I think you either love or hate facebook. It is addicting. And sometimes too personal?

You do have to be safe and smart, as with any type of online communication.

There are always those who will try to use things to their advantage. But, there are so many good souls to meet online. Like you!!!

I love facebook for many reasons...one being that it is a great networking tool for my Etsy shop. I have also reconnected with so many old friends as well as made many wonderful new ones. I personally think it's an amazing site! My husband on the other hand refuses to use it. He is not a very social person so I guess it wouldn't appeal to someone who isn't very social being that it's a social networking site ;)
