One Year Ago Today

One year ago today, My Aunt Angie passed away. It's still so surreal. I still go to foward her something cool online. I go to tell her the latest "gossip". Something funny. Or something I'm annoyed at.

Of course, I can't. But, I do. I say it anyway. In hopes she hears me. And I think she does.

Aunt Angie is my favorite Aunt. At our wedding, we had this poem read. I wore a locket with a tiny heart inside. The heart came from a collection of beads she had given me less than a year before she passed away. That tiny heart has more value that it knows.

I love you AA. And I know for sure I will see you again.

I carry your heart with me.
I carry it in my heart.
I am never without it.
Anywhere I go, you go, my dear.
And whatever is done by only me...
is your doing, my darling.
I fear no fate...
for you are my fate, my sweet.
I want no world, for, beautiful...
you are my world, my true.
Here is the deepest secret
no one knows.
Here is the root of the root...
and the bud of the bud...
and the sky of the sky
of a tree called life...
which grows higher
than the soul can hope...
or mind can hide.
It is the wonder
that's keeping the stars apart.
I carry your heart.
I carry it in my heart.

Wow! I came across your blog through another blog. It amazes me when you find a post by someone and it totally relates to what your going through. This is my first time at your blog too.
But I lost my favorite Aunt last friday. She was laid to rest yesterday. She sounds so much like your Aunt. Her name was Aunt Addie, short for Adelaide. She was 90 years old. You can see my story and her picture on my blog.
I am still so amazed to come across your blog and this certain post.
Thanks for sharing!
